Maggie’s Art for DAR American Heritage 2025
Maggie’s most recent art submitted to the DAR’s American Heritage Contest 2025 ‘It is 1905 what would you wear to the first Continental Congress?‘ The piece measures 42″ x 60″. All of the colors are derived from the hammering of flower petals on to silk charmeuse fabric. Blue delphinium was used for the sky, roses for the building and dress, and white hydrangea for the field. The dress was inspired by ‘Promenading 1900’ in the exhibit ‘SPORTING FASHION Outdoor Girls 1800 – 1960 as seen at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens in the summer of 2024.
